By the Water, 2023

In July 2023 the “By the Water” recreation area opened on the bank of the Slepianka water system, between the Children’s Railway and Filimonova Street. During a nationwide community clean-up with city leadership, 3.0 ha of adjoining land was cleared of litter, fallen wood and last year’s leaves. A 325 m crushed-stone pedestrian path was repaired and 31 benches with bins were installed. For Victory Day the site received 4 outdoor exercise machines, a swing gazebo and 2 hammocks. Residents of the neighbourhood enjoy the new leisure equipment.
